In the opening episode of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, we’re introduced to Twilight Sparkle, a unicorn who values knowledge and discipline over social interaction. While researching ancient lore, she discovers a troubling legend tied to a powerful force that may soon return.
Concerned about what she’s uncovered, Twilight tries to raise the alarm—but instead, she’s sent to the quiet town of Ponyville with a completely different mission: learn about friendship.
Once there, she encounters a variety of new personalities, each with their own quirks and energy. While she tries to stay focused on her studies, the unpredictability of her surroundings—and the ponies she meets—makes that nearly impossible.
As the day of a major celebration approaches, subtle hints suggest that Twilight’s initial fears may not have been entirely misplaced…
My thoughts:
This is definitely not a series. I thought I’d be covering and definitely not one. I thought I’d enjoy even after watching it. To be completely honest, this was more of a secondary and byproduct of the card game and knowing that I’m having a little girl soon that will probably love my little pony and trying to get ahead of the curve a little bit. And boy was, I surprised the writers and the storyline itself is fantastic. Take the ponies out of it and you got yourself an absolute banger of a show throw the ponies into it and now there’s even more humor. It’s honestly not what I was expecting, but I can compare it visually to dexter‘s laboratory so if you like dexter, you will definitely like my little pony, no matter what your friends do or don’t tell you.
