Episode 8 delves into Kirishima’s mysterious past, shedding light on the events that shaped his cold, calculating demeanor. The episode begins with a flashback to Kirishima’s early days in the yakuza, highlighting the loyalty and betrayal that marked his rise in the Miyama clan. These memories resurface as Kirishima struggles to process the betrayal uncovered in Episode 7.
A Widening Rift
Back in the present, tensions within the Miyama clan continue to escalate. Kirishima’s father pushes for harsher measures against their enemies, but Kirishima hesitates, wary of collateral damage. Yoshino, now more involved in clan affairs, urges him to find a solution that doesn’t rely on bloodshed, showing her growing confidence and moral compass.
The episode balances moments of introspection with rising action, as the rival gang’s next move looms on the horizon. Kirishima’s struggle to reconcile his violent past with his present responsibilities hints at a potential turning point in his character arc, leaving viewers eager to see if he can break free from the shadows of his past.
My Thoughts:
Episode 8 gets really into the depths of what each of the Yakuza families is willing to do to win. The women are used as pawns and queens in Real life game of chess that only the masters of the sport survive and thrive in.
Episode 8 has some epic fight scenes so if violent yakuza anime is your thing this episode will float your boat for sure.
Kirishima also places a very strange bet on a potential courtship and marriage if he kills some yakuza scumbag by midnight. It’s giving me Yakuza Cinderella vibes lol
