Spread the love

Episode 7 of 365 Days to the Wedding continues to blur the lines between pretense and reality as Tsumugi and Ritsu’s fake engagement faces new challenges. This episode introduces external pressures and tests their ability to maintain the charade while navigating their own growing feelings. With moments of humor, awkwardness, and heartfelt sincerity, Episode 7 raises the stakes, leaving viewers more invested than ever.

Plot Summary

The episode begins with a new challenge for Tsumugi and Ritsu: their company is preparing for an upcoming client dinner where all couples are invited, meaning Tsumugi and Ritsu must once again put on a convincing act. The twist? One of the clients is an older woman who prides herself on being able to spot “fake couples” at a glance. This revelation adds a layer of tension as Tsumugi and Ritsu must rehearse their chemistry to avoid being exposed.

To prepare for the dinner, Tsumugi and Ritsu spend more time together outside work, working on their “natural” interactions. From visiting restaurants to practicing how they’ll handle probing questions, these moments highlight their contrasting personalities. Tsumugi’s anxious overthinking leads to comical rehearsals, while Ritsu’s relaxed demeanor adds a layer of levity to their interactions. Yet, amidst the humor, there are subtle moments where their connection feels undeniably real, especially as they share personal stories during their practice sessions.

The client dinner itself is a blend of lighthearted fun and tension. The older client, keen on testing the couples, asks Tsumugi and Ritsu a series of personal questions designed to reveal cracks in their relationship. Just when it seems like they might slip up, Ritsu surprises everyone (including Tsumugi) with a heartfelt response about what he admires most about her. His words are so genuine that even Tsumugi starts to question whether he’s still acting or if he means what he says.

The evening ends on a high note as they manage to convince the clients, but the emotional weight of Ritsu’s words lingers. On the way home, Tsumugi awkwardly thanks him for his performance, only for Ritsu to casually brush it off, leaving her even more confused about his true feelings. Meanwhile, Ritsu privately reflects on the moment, wondering if he’s letting his emotions get the better of him.

Character Development

Episode 7 is a significant turning point for both Tsumugi and Ritsu. Tsumugi’s anxiety about being exposed is balanced by her growing realization that she genuinely enjoys spending time with Ritsu. Her moments of vulnerability—like her reaction to Ritsu’s kind words—add depth to her character, showing her struggle to reconcile her feelings with the situation’s artificial nature.

Ritsu, on the other hand, begins to drop his aloof facade. His genuine response at the dinner reveals a more emotional side to his character, suggesting that he might be starting to care for Tsumugi more than he’s willing to admit. His internal conflict adds a layer of complexity, hinting at a brewing romance that feels authentic and heartfelt.

Themes Explored

The Complexity of Pretending: Episode 7 emphasizes the difficulty of maintaining a facade, especially when real emotions are involved. The dinner forces Tsumugi and Ritsu to confront their feelings in ways they hadn’t anticipated, blurring the boundaries between acting and reality.

Genuine Admiration: Ritsu’s heartfelt words highlight the importance of seeing the best in others. Even if his initial goal was to play a role, his admiration for Tsumugi feels sincere, adding a layer of emotional depth to their dynamic.

Trust Under Pressure: The dinner scenario showcases the growing trust between Tsumugi and Ritsu. Despite their nerves, they rely on each other to pull through, strengthening their bond in the process.

Visuals and Animation

The animation in Episode 7 is particularly strong during the dinner scene, with detailed character expressions capturing every nuance of Tsumugi and Ritsu’s emotions. The setting, from the elegant restaurant to the subtle lighting, adds a sophisticated tone to the episode. The contrast between the tense dinner and the relaxed, playful practice sessions earlier in the episode is reflected in the visuals, keeping the narrative engaging and visually dynamic.

Final Thoughts

Episode 7 of 365 Days to the Wedding is a masterful blend of humor, tension, and heartfelt moments. The client dinner provides a perfect backdrop for Tsumugi and Ritsu to test the strength of their charade while also revealing their growing feelings for each other. Ritsu’s genuine words and Tsumugi’s reaction create an emotional turning point that leaves viewers eager to see how their relationship evolves.

As the episode ends, it’s clear that both Tsumugi and Ritsu are grappling with more than just their fake engagement. Will they continue to hide behind their roles, or will they begin to acknowledge the truth of their feelings? Episode 7 sets the stage for deeper emotional exploration, promising even more heartfelt and captivating moments in the episodes to come.

My Thoughts:

Things with the “fake wedding” are basically gone and it seems like our lovers might actually finally acknowledge their true love for one another!

Our bride to be ironically started to confess her true feelings to no one else than his childhood sweetheart.  Things are getting awkward.
