Episode 9 raises the stakes as a mole within the Miyama clan is uncovered. This discovery comes at a great cost, forcing Kirishima to make a heartbreaking decision to protect the family.
Tensions Explode
The mole’s betrayal sparks an intense confrontation between Kirishima and his father, who blames him for allowing the traitor to operate unchecked. Their argument reveals deep-seated issues between the two, including Kirishima’s resistance to fully embracing the yakuza lifestyle. Meanwhile, Yoshino finds herself caught in the middle, torn between her growing loyalty to Kirishima and her own family’s interests.
A Moment of Vulnerability
The emotional weight of the episode comes from a rare moment of vulnerability shared between Yoshino and Kirishima. After a heated argument, they open up about their fears and frustrations, strengthening the bond between them. However, the tension remains as the rival gang prepares to make their move, leaving little time for reflection.
Episode 9 ends on a cliffhanger as the rival gang launches a surprise attack, setting the stage for an intense showdown in the next episode.
My Thoughts:
Yoshino keeps diving deeper and deeper into the mafia / yakuza life in this episode and I’m starting to wonder if she will survive the season at this rate.
Between Azami and Kirishima’s violent tendencies she seems to be living in a pot that is about to boil over.
