Episode 3 of Tokyo Revengers, titled “Resolve,” introduces us to two of the most important characters in the series: Manjiro “Mikey” Sano and Ken “Draken” Ryuguji. These two figures play a crucial role in the Tokyo Manji Gang and, as Takemichi soon realizes, are key to changing the future.

Plot Overview

Following his brutal encounter with Kiyomasa, Takemichi’s bravery doesn’t go unnoticed. Mikey, the leader of the Tokyo Manji Gang, and his right-hand man Draken, are impressed by Takemichi’s resolve to stand up to Kiyomasa despite the odds being stacked against him.

Mikey, intrigued by Takemichi, takes a liking to him and offers him protection, making Takemichi an unofficial member of the Tokyo Manji Gang. This is a significant turning point—being close to Mikey and Draken gives Takemichi a unique opportunity to influence the gang’s future decisions.

However, Takemichi quickly realizes that being close to Mikey and Draken is not without its challenges. He begins to see the darker side of gang life and understands that to change the future, he needs to navigate the dangerous waters of gang politics carefully.

My Thoughts:

Episode 3 starts off with the younger fighter,  second year challenging the leader to a direct fight.

The fight goes and before it ends – I won’t ruin it for you – an unlikely hero arrives and befriends the loser of the fight, thus building an unlikely bond that is sure to play out later.
