In Episode 6, “The Friendship Scheme,” Loid’s mission takes on new dimensions as he realizes that Anya must become friends with the target’s son, Damian Desmond, to succeed in Operation Strix. Loid goes all-in on his plan, preparing Anya for her first day at Eden Academy and teaching her how to interact with Damian.
The episode provides a delightful mix of humor and heart as Anya navigates her first day at the prestigious school. However, things don’t go according to Loid’s carefully laid plans when Anya, frustrated by Damian’s teasing, punches him. This unexpected moment not only disrupts Loid’s mission but also highlights Anya’s determination to stand up for herself, giving the audience more insight into her character.
Despite the setback, Loid remains determined to make the friendship work. The episode strikes a perfect balance between humor and tension, with Loid juggling the challenges of parenting, espionage, and damage control. The stakes rise as the mission depends on building relationships—and “The Friendship Scheme” shows that it might not be as easy as Loid had hoped.
My Thoughts:
In this episode Lloyd is immediately confronted by his handler whom ironically or maybe unironically looks like she could be Anya’s mother. The reason for the meeting is to update him on his mission and he also gets railed for some questionable financial choices.
His next quest is that Anya needs to become an honor student. While on a normal trip to the supermarket, some younger punk kids try and kidnap Anya, but her assassin mom quickly puts that attempt to shame.
