    • Killua’s introduction adds a layer of complexity and excitement to the story.

Quotes:

  • “I’m here to have fun.” – Killua

Themes and Motifs:

  • Endurance and Perseverance: The episode highlights the importance of physical and mental endurance in the face of challenges.
  • Friendship and Rivalry: The budding friendship between Gon and Killua is juxtaposed with the competitive nature of the exam.

Final Thoughts:

The introduction of Killua and the start of the Hunter Exam add excitement and depth to the series. The physically demanding test sets the stage for more intense challenges ahead.

My Thoughts:

Episode 3 starts off nicely with a little more separation of what makes each of our future hunters unique and truly their own person; in thought, in mind and about everything else.

Leerio is still showing us his true colors as a greedy man that is only interested in becoming wealthy off of the spoils for being a famous and recognized hunter.  He even proclaims the amount of hunters that have made the wealthiest people list (similar to Forbes’ famous list).

Kurapika is definitely a moral and upstanding aspiring hunter that seems to want to only want to help and do good; almost to a flaw.  In a way Kurapika is almost abnormally moral with little flexibility.

Gon, well he seems to be the glue and defacto silent leader that brings a bit of softness to Leorio and common sense and logic to Kurapika.

Anyways, as the competition gets started we are introduce to Hisoka, who is by far my favorite character in terms of the very little I know so far.

Again, referencing the Union Arena Card Game, I actually pulled a $750+ Hisoka card that was absolutely incredible to behold (I’ll find a pic and upload).  Excited to see more of Hisoka for sure.

Some of these hunters are hilarious, especially the guy plotting to give the other potential hunters a laxative in a sports drink that he assures himself will have their insides doing roller coasters for days lol.
