My thoughts:

The first thing that comes to mind when watching the first episode of Kaiju No. 8 it very much feels like what a day in the life of the cleanup crew behind the My Hero fight scenes would experience.  The main character is on a team that dissects and dismembers defeated monsters in somewhat of a looked down upon profession; very similar to some people’s views unfortunately about garbage men.

Also, not sure if it’s the music of the monsters but I also like the similarities between this and Attack on Titan.

Ironically the end of the first episode; as is the case in most cliffhangers the protagonist is faced with a live changing dilemma. He gets infected by a flying bug-like Kaiju that transforms him into a Kaiju, however it seems like he retains his soul and being but when he’s immediately reported he is now the hunted instead of the hunter.  Very excited to watch the next episode.
